In our ongoing quest to upgrade our house, we are having our dining room remodeled. Ryann has documented the progression on her Facebook page. The pictures are publicly viewable (you don't need a Facebook account). They are posted here.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Our annual holiday letter is posted, along with many previous year's letters, on this
page.
Ryann and I, along with two Murphy cousins, took a great vacation to upstate New York. Ryann posted a few update on her blog for each day: one, two, three, four, five.
Happy Forth of July to all. Hope everyone had a pleasant and safe weekend. Ryann and I marched in the Palatine Area Community Marching Band again this year. Here is a great highlight video from the festivities.

Ryann also posted some pictures on Facebook.
Calling all Udens! Mark your calendar for June 28, 2009. The Uden Family Reunion 2009 will take place in Juniata, Nebraska at Christ Lutheran Church (http://clcjuniata.org/). Worship is at 10 AM and lunch will follow in the basement fellowship hall.
More information will be posted soon at http://reunion.uden.org. Stay tuned for details!
We are very excited. Our main bathroom is being remodeled. Follow day to day status on Ryann's Facebook page.
Of course we have had our series of glitches. Ever have the feeling all those city building codes were written specifically for your house?
Update: The project is done! We like it!
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) came online this week. This is very exciting in the science community, as particle physicists look for the Higgs boson. Some critics think those wacky scientists may create a black hole and bring about the end of the world, but that is highly unlikely (see Wikipedia article for references).
My uncle Loren recently lost his battle with an aggressive brain tumor. His obituary is posted here.
Thanks to all for their thoughts & support.
If you feel so moved, you might consider making a donation to the Lutheran Hour.
This summer I made the jump into the wild world of social networking websites. Some friends wanted to share a few pictures and had them hosted on Facebook, so I jumped in and set up an account. I tended to avoid such sites as I was afraid of getting sucked into a "high time involvement" activity.
Ryann and I survived the first annual Palatine Area Community Marching Band performance. Reception from the crowd was very positive!
For a few highlights, we have pictures and video from friends, PACMB members, and others. Check it out!
Thanks to all who were watching! We'll be back next year. :-)
